Terms and Conditions
1. Your initial deposit reserves your event date and is non-refundable. The full amount of the balance and equipment
deposit(s) is due one week before your event. If payment is not made in full by one week before the event date, your
order may be canceled. Payment made before the week deadline may be made by cash, check, or PayPal. Payments
by check after the deadline cannot be accepted. If your check bounces, you are responsible for all fees incurred by The
Artisan Cakehouse and may have your order canceled.
2. Should you cancel your order before full payment has been made, the deposit to hold your date is non-refundable. If
you cancel your order after payment has been made and production has begun, we will refund your payment, less the
cost of supplies already purchased, expenses incurred, and the deposit for the date.
3. Cake designs are considered final two weeks before your event.
4. No cake from another creator is permitted to be served at an event where The Artisan Cakehouse cake is served. We
cannot risk being mistaken as the creator of other cake(s) for reasons of reputation and liability. Violation of this policy
will mean forfeiture of the cake and all monies paid at no compensation to the purchaser.
5. Delivery and setup is included within the I-675 and I-275 circles, and points between. For deliveries beyond these
areas, charges will include a $35.00 delivery fee and $.55 a mile from The Artisan Cakehouse.
6. It is your responsibility to make sure that the reception hall is open and available for setup at the appointed time. If we
cannot deliver the cake, we will continue our delivery route and return to set up the cake at the end of the route, or wait
at the site (depending on the delivery schedule). Wait time at the site will be billed for the actual wait time at an hourly
rate of $20 per hour. If you change the time or location of the reception, please notify The Artisan Cakehouse
immediately.
7. We are not responsible for damage to the cake after set up is complete, and delivery has been acknowledged by you
or your designee. You are responsible for providing an appropriate and secure table and environment for the cake(s).
Cakes are heavy and require a sturdy table, and optimal room temperature of 75 degrees or below. If you or your
designee elects to pick up and set up the cake, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake
once it leaves The Artisan Cakehouse. The Artisan Cakehouse is not responsible for any damage to or shortage of cake
caused by a guest, caterer, or any other person not employed by The Artisan Cakehouse.
8. You are responsible for making sure all non-edible items you have requested on your cake as decoration are removed
from the cake before it is cut and served. Our products may contain or come in contact with milk, wheat, nuts, cocoa or
other allergens. It is the responsibility of the client to inform his/her guests of this fact. The Artisan Cakehouse does not
guarantee any cake to be allergen free, and is not responsible for any allergic reactions. You agree to indemnify and
hold The Artisan Cakehouse harmless from and against, all bodily injury, property damage or consequential damages
which may result from The Artisan Cakehouse services and provision of your event cake
9. On occasion, The Artisan Cakehouse will take photographs of its cakes or order copies of pictures from your
photographer. We reserve the right to use any photographs for reference, display, or promotion without your consent or
compensation to you.
10. The Artisan Cakehouse's obligation to perform will be modified to the extent necessary based on transportation
problems, inclement weather, massive power outages, acts of God, illness, or other causes beyond The Artisan
Cakehouse's control that make it impossible or impractical for Artisan Cakehouse to perform.
